Project overview

Discuss a similar site

Working for project architect HMC, Cefali & Associates designed a permanent shoring wall to relieve earth pressure from the proposed science building.

The temporary retained heights allowed for excavation of the new building's foundations, including drilled piles.

The architect's terraced hillside concept created several non-typical corner conditions. Cefali coordinated the wall design with building structural engineer Saiful Bouquet as the retaining geometry and foundation conditions were developed.

The project was reviewed and approved by DSA. The project was managed by Gafcon and the shoring was installed by Shoring Engineers.
