Hollywood Way and Winona Avenue: shoring for the replacement terminal parking structure and its below-grade foundations.
Burbank, California
The replacement terminal parking structure at Hollywood Burbank Airport required a shored excavation for one below-grade level and large foundations.
Cefali & Associates designed the shoring as part of Malcolm Drilling’s design-build team. Existing structures, new utilities, grading, and retaining walls affected the support layout.
Local conditions
Cefali modeled the shoring in Revit and checked tieback conflicts with utility trades in Navisworks. The design also accounted for over-excavation and the sequence needed to build the parking structure.
