The space behind the wall
Tiebacks extend into the ground behind the shoring. A utility crossing that space can restrict an anchor's location, length, or angle. At the airport project, Cefali coordinated the shoring model against utility trade models to identify those conflicts.
Anchor design within the excavation plan
The shoring had to accommodate large foundations, over-excavation, existing structures, proposed grades, and new retaining walls. Anchor positions and wall support therefore had to be considered with the surrounding work and the construction sequence.
Model coordination and site information
A coordinated model helps the team examine the space anchors and utilities need. Tieback design also depends on geotechnical criteria, drilling access, and available property rights, which establish whether the proposed anchor arrangement can be used.
