Intuit Dome
West Century Boulevard: temporary and permanent shoring for a sunken court and below-grade arena construction.
Inglewood, California
At Intuit Dome on West Century Boulevard, the court sits more than 30 feet below existing grade, and below-grade construction occupied much of the site.
The project needed temporary and permanent earth support around the arena, an entrance tunnel, and other below-grade work. Shoring also had to preserve construction access and account for loads from cranes and concrete pumps.
Local conditions
Most Intuit Dome shoring used cantilever and tieback-braced soldier piles. At the entrance tunnel, tieback agreements were unavailable, so cross-lot braces carried the load above truck traffic.
