Tiebacks along most of the cut
Tiebacks braced the soldier pile and lagging wall as excavation advanced to the below-grade hotel levels.
The West Hollywood Edition excavation near Sunset and Doheny varied from about 9 to 50 feet deep. Most of its soldier pile and lagging wall used tiebacks, but some edges needed different bracing.
Cefali & Associates designed corner braces where tieback easements were avoided and a local secant pile wall at an existing billboard.
Site conditions
Tiebacks braced the soldier pile and lagging wall as excavation advanced to the below-grade hotel levels.
Corner bracing supported selected locations where the design avoided obtaining tieback easements from neighbors.
A local secant pile wall with walers and high-capacity anchors supported excavation at the existing billboard condition.
Published project work

Soldier piles, tiebacks, corner braces, and a secant pile segment addressed changing conditions at the Edition.
Engineering scope
These projects show how excavation depth, neighboring structures, access, and the permanent work can change the support design. Your site needs its own geotechnical criteria and structural design. The contractor determines installation and construction means and methods.
