Early bridge construction
The shoring supported construction at the base of the crossing site before the southerly earthwork had reached its later grade.
Bridge and abutment work at the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing started before the southerly earthwork was complete. Temporary shoring held the ground at the base of the site while that early construction proceeded.
Cefali & Associates designed the support for general contractor C.A. Rasmussen, and Malcolm Drilling installed it. The shoring height could be increased as grading backfilled the slope toward the abutment.
Site conditions
The shoring supported construction at the base of the crossing site before the southerly earthwork had reached its later grade.
The design used available Caltrans beams and allowed additional height at the top of the shoring as the slope was backfilled.
Published project work

Temporary earth shoring supported early bridge and abutment work at Liberty Canyon along US 101.
Engineering scope
These projects show how excavation depth, neighboring structures, access, and the permanent work can change the support design. Your site needs its own geotechnical criteria and structural design. The contractor determines installation and construction means and methods.
